Our mentality over here at NYSS is to “live every week like it’s Shark Week”. With that mindset, the team is very excited about the impending Shark Week.
Starting August 12, the Discovery Channel will host it’s 25th year of running a week long television program playlist devoted to sharks. Now on the interactive website, you can view a “Shark Cam”, Games, “Top 25” Lists, Videos, and Sound Clips.
To get into the mindset for “Shark Week”, we thought we would bring you a list of things to do/buy to get hyped and in spirit.
–Surf Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn offers tropical drinks, a surf inspired decor, and food entrees. Try the Shark Attack Chowder or Penne with Shark. Surf Bar has sand on the floor, so remember to wear your flip flops!
-Head to the NY Aquarium to view sharks in an (almost) natural habitat.
-Head to Midtown to Point Break Sports Bar. With surf theme and a Patrick Swayze framed photo, this bar takes the 1990s film to a whole new level. Killer dude.
-Throw a Shark Week Partywith these great party ideas. Make cupcakes, cut out shark shapes, and go crazy. The more obscure, the better.
-For the diehard fans, All or Nothing Tattoo will be giving away free Shark Week tattoos.
***Whatever you do, don’t get that tattoo.
