Last Tuesday, August 28, Midtown New York’s Taj Lounge hosted the launch party of Open Closet Magazine, a new publication dedicated to the pursuit of fashion.
Mob Wives’ Ramona Rizzo served as the face of the event, welcoming guests from various walks of life including celebrities as well as representatives from a number of press and media outlets.
Though the party’s main attraction was the unveiling of the launch issue for September, other events featured performance by Salena Dabbs as well as music by the talented likes of Orikl, Rasul A-Salaam and DJ MavRic. Taj Lounge also added to the event’s appeal with drink specials in honor of the occasion. Open Closet also hosted raffles and give-aways provided by sponsors of the event including Peg and Awl, Future Generationand many more. Give-away gifts ranged from designer bags to hair care products to elegant dresses and more. Raffle prizes also spanned various age groups and genders with boys’ shirts and girls’ clothes in addition to treats for fashion’s favorite audience: women.

Open Closet Magazine has established its purpose as providing valuable fashion information such as tips, trends and places to find the latest styles. In addition, the magazine is passionate about providing coverage and support for new, up and coming designers and artists with industry potential.
Timed perfectly to precede this year’s New York Fashion Week, the launch party was a proclaimed success, and the first issue is set to release just in time to coincide with the biggest fashion week of the year. Bravo, Open Closet. You really know how to launch a project.
