Although only in the first month of Fall, NYC has taken a cold chill this weekend, and customers are starting to prepare themselves mentally for the winter ahead. One of my favorite trends for the Holiday/Winter season is wearing pops of Winter White. Whether mixed with colored jeans, embellishment, textures, or metallics, Winter White is a creamy update to the stark Summer White. It’s creamy and warm tone works well with all complexions, and it can be considered a great neutral color to pair everything with. Here are some ideas to get you “Holiday Ready” with Winter White:
The Leather Jacket
The white leather jacket is a great update to the leather trend we have seen the past few seasons. Add jewel tones, such as these great emerald color jeans from Zara for a “pop” against the creamy white. A tonal winter white top underneath, such as seen in the picture, creates an elongating look with the dark contrast bottoms. The leather jacket can also be worn with boyfriend/ripped jeans, a fitted turtle neck for a edgy twist.
Mixing with Metallics
Nothing says the Holidays without a little shimmer! I love the idea of holiday metallics with winter white. Metallics worn right add a hint of old Hollywood Glamour to any outfit. By keeping the top or bottom of your outfit neutral such as this Club Monaco outfit, you can create an elegant yet festive outfit.
Borrowing From the Boys
Menswear accents with girly details continue to be popular throughout fashion. From Blazers, to Newboy Caps, to Boyfriend Jeans, women’s fashion is all about “borrowing from the boys”. This Rugby by Ralph Lauren Vest is a great Winter White “must have”. Pair with a turtle neck and a plaid skirt for a Holiday/English twist, or keep it with the grey trousers for a more “prep” look. Or, throw this blazer over a dress for layering.
Some Fur to Love
What would the Winter Season be without a cozy layering piece? This vest takes two of the biggest trends of the season (fur and winter white) and combines them in one piece. Even better, is the continuation of “Oxblood” being a must have in every wardrobe. The deep purple/red color works great with any skin tone, and pops against the pure color of the vest.
No matter what your style is, Winter White is a “must have” to update your closet. Think of it as the new “black” or “navy”. Wear it with pops of color, different textures, and your fall color palette. The deep, saturated tones from fall look great against the creamy tone. Textured materials such as jacquard or tweed dress up an outfit, while worn denim makes it casual.
