Cherub Improv’s Second Annual Gala 11/13


On Tuesday, November 13th, Cherub Improv, the Manhattan-based non-profit organization founded by Jonathan Evan Goldberg, Joy Copeland Purver and Steve Van Ooteghem, will host its Second Annual Gala from 7:00pm-10:00pm at Tribeca Cinemas on 54 Varick Street. The evening, which will feature cocktails, food, music, a live and silent auction and, of course, an improv show conducted by the Cherubs, will raise  money to help fund Cherub Improv’s 2013 calendar year. ..

Since its inception in 2007, Cherub Improv has provided over 500 free
improvised comedy performances and educational workshops to people in the
greater New York area most in need of interactive comedy including: youth
groups, the elderly, veterans, the homeless, hospital and hospice patients, and
adults and children living with cancer.

Cherub Board members such as Lloyd Barker, Julie Galdieri, Ed Goldberg, Jonathan Evan Goldberg, among others, will be on site at the gala to honor the troupes’ volunteer leaders who have consistently led events and helped make the organization what it is today. Honorees include Richard Bishop and Elaine Liebmann (Project ORE of the Educational Alliance), Leanne Linsky, Shelly Savoca and Michelle Francesca Thomas (Big Brothers Big Sisters), Mike Veasey (Hope Lodge of the American Cancer Society), Alexis Levenson and Julie Stainer (Gilda’s Club NY and Westchester), Lou Stone Borenstein and Gina DiMaggio (Kessler Rehab) Jennifer Fernandez (Children’s Village), Elizabeth Parish (NYU Rusk), and Primary Instructor/Trainer of the Cherubs, Marc Adam Smith of Gotham City Improv.

Auctions items include a private concert by Indie Rock band herMajesty, tickets to Rock of Ages on Broadway, and an original artwork painted by pop artist Victoria Schweizer.

This is sure to be a great event, filled with entertainment and dining while promoting a good cause.

 TICKETS: $125 per ticket, $250 for two, or $300 for two and a Listing in Program
