Each spring in New York, the non-profit Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) presents its annual DINING BY DESIGN, an impressive display of cuisine, creativity, and glamour. Presented in conjunction with this week’s Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94, the event showcases spectacular tabletop installations from some of the world’s design elite. Past DINING BY DESIGN sponsors include Ralph Lauren, Jonathan Adler and Liebherr Refrigeration.

This year, for the first time, DIFFA is adding a sustainability initiative to their designer challenge in hopes that each designer will repurpose or recycle as much of each installation as possible by offering leftover materials to “Material for the Arts,” that donates materials to NYC public schools, or by recycling items to a future DIFFA auction or a private collection.

Saturday, March 23rd, DIFFA is hosting it Cocktails by Design. During this evening affair, designers and guests mingle at Pier 94 during this dazzling display of the amazing design installations, while sampling treats from NYC’s top restaurants and gourmet food purveyors paired with delicious wine and cocktails.

Over the past fifteen years, DINING BY DESIGN has generated millions of dollars in grants in participating communities and DIFFA is proud to be among the top 50 funders of HIV/AIDS programs in the United States.
