April 18-20, Chef Jonah Miller brings Spanish pinxtos to The Old Bowery Station for his three-day Huertas Pop Up.
The future restaurantHuertas will be “popping up” at the Old Bowery Station offering guests an impressive preview of the bar offerings at Huertas. Instead guests will help themselves to a variety of pintxos–finger-foods typical of northeast Spain–that will be lining the bar.
In addition to offering Spanish wine and beer, Anthony Belliveau-Flores of Rowan Imports will be on hand to pour his ciders personally. The menu includes pulpo gallego, white anchovy with green olives and pickled peppers, chorizo and carrots, tigres mussels and more. The Northeast Spain finger foods are served with Asturian cider.
There are two seatings each night – Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 6:30pm and 8:30pm,
Monday, April 22, 6-9pm, 168 Bowery: Up next at The Old Bowery Station is a two-hour Spanish cooking class that’ll teach you the secrets to creating delicious seafood paella, gazpacho and chocolate cake. Leti Salama from Leti’s Catering takes you through the journey while you sip sangria and listen to Spanish tunes.
Salama will provide all cooking materials for the three-course meal, plus wine and sangria pairings. After the class, you’ll enjoy a one-hour meal (paella, gazpacho and cake!) at The Old Bowery Station. The intimate class is open to only 11 students and tickets are $80.
