It’s a Thursday – no Friday, Saturday night and even though for whatever reason agreeing to a conclusion to the final destination in the Mecca of NYC remains stagnant. So, if that’s the case, why not throw all cards on the table, escape the 212 area code and head on down to Williamsburg – not Virginia- Brooklyn of course.
“But I’m not a hipster, and I don’t understand the Brooklyn-nites,” you silently argue.
Well chances are they feel the same way too about the natives living in the 212 vicinity. However, put aside all that emotional restraint and get ready for a kick-ass night out. Once the decision finalizes to include Bembe as part of the NY Social Status, a wave of anxiety washes over because a personal and favorite location kept on the DL is about to magnify in an epic way; I have no choice but to accept that the cat is out the bag.
OK., so let’s paint the scenario and assume that perhaps this upcoming weekend it is a unanimous vote to conquer Bembe; what to expect.
The venue boasts a good size, bigger than a closet but intimate in the respect that it captures the energy quite well. The bar is on the right, the DJ and wait for it….. huge drums are to the left. The best part is they have different international musicians playing every night as they beautifully collaborate with the DJ with dance-worthy beats guaranteed to bring the house down.
If you want to pound on the drums, feel free- that’s another awesome perk indeed.
The crowd is great – no phenomenal and it just makes the entire experience and the trek to Brooklyn worth while.
Oh and they are opened 7 days a week; Monday- Thursdays they are opened from 7:30pm-3:30am; Friday- Sunday: 7:30pm-4:30am; it’s like a full time job of dancing.
So, what are you waiting for? Add this to your list of fun. It will be super great and if you enjoy it as much as I have, you will see why it should be kept as a secret.
