The Fortune Society, one of the nation’s most respected nonprofit organizations offering services to formerly incarcerated men and women, will host its 2013 Annual Fall Benefit on October 2, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan. The event will support a vast array of support services that help Fortune’s clients successfully re-enter their communities after serving time in prisons and jail.
The Fortune Society will present The David Rothenberg Achievement Award to Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg for his steadfast commitment to and support of successful reentry services for formerly incarcerated men and women.
The evening will also feature Award-winning actor and Fortune Society Advisory Board member Charles S. Dutton who will perform a scene from his auto-biographical show “From Jail to Yale: Serving Time on Stage.” Dutton served time in prison and successfully rebuilt his life becoming a Yale-educated, professional actor, producer and director.
